Dr. Horton earned his PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 2015. He completed rotations in both Pediatric and Adult Neuropsychology as part of his APA-accredited internship and was awarded the UT Southwestern Outstanding Intern Award for his exceptional clinical skills. Following completion of his graduate training, Dr. Horton completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Pediatric Neuropsychology at Children’s Medical Center Dallas.

In 2017, Dr. Horton joined the faculty as a Pediatric Neuropsychologist at Children’s Medical Center and Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at UT Southwestern. During his time on faculty, he conducted neuropsychological evaluations with children, adolescents, and young adults with a broad array of neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder [ADHD], dyslexia, intellectual disability, language disorder), psychiatric disorders (e.g., depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder), and medical conditions affecting the brain. He also remained an active researcher during his time at Children’s/UT Southwestern, assisting with design and implementation of clinical trials to develop novel treatments for rare genetic disorders in children. Dr. Horton’s research has been published in scientific journals and presented at local, national, and international conferences.

Dr. Horton achieved Board Certification in Clinical Neuropsychology through the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) in 2021, a credential that involves a rigorous examination process to demonstrate expertise in the field. Dr. Horton is also involved in several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology (AACN), International Neuropsychological Society (INS), and National Academy of Neuropsychology (NAN). Dr. Horton is now in full-time private practice where he serves children and families dealing with a range of cognitive, academic, and psychosocial challenges. Having completed all of his post-graduate education and training in the Dallas area, Dr. Horton has relationships with other providers, schools, and organizations throughout the region and routinely collaborates with others to provide outstanding care.

Outside the office, Dr. Horton enjoys spending quality time with friends and family. He has a lifelong passion for music and plays several instruments. He also enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors.
